Acting for the Insurers and Insured against a third party minor's Insurers who negligently burned down the Insured's house causing approximately £1.5m's worth of damage. A successful outcome was reached at Mediation - a month before the scheduled Trial - where we negotiated a substantial settlement and ensured maximum recovery for Insurer and Insured.
Case study: Third party claim against contractors
This case consisted of a third party claim against underpinning contractors and flooring contractors. We acted both for the Insurer and Insured, commencing proceedings in the Technology and Construction Court. Shortly before the Trial, the Defendant offered to settle the matter at Mediation. Our Clients received good settlements plus legal costs.

This case involved a fraudulent insurance Claim brought by the Insured against our Client, the Insurer. The fraudulent Claim involved a five-figure recovery resulting from a burglary. Having successfully defended the matter at Trial, we recovered our Client's legal costs from the Claimant.
Case study: Pursuing damages relating to subsidence
This case involved us acting for a Homeowner and his Insurers. The Claimant's next-door Neighbour had trees that had caused subsidence to his property. We launched proceedings against the Neighbour and obtained Expert Engineer and Arboriculturalist Reports to strengthen our case. We commenced proceedings and ultimately settled the matter for a substantial six-figure sum plus costs.
Case study: Third party claim against installers of faulty equipment
We acted for the Insurers and Insured with regards to a claim seeking recovery from a third party tradesman who had installed and supplied faulty equipment. We issued proceedings and ultimately reached a settlement plus costs at Mediation a few months before the scheduled Trial.
